Dear Jay,
Thanks a bunch for
all the nice compliments. Are you sure you are not on commission?
Greetings,
My name is Lisa Allen. I heard Moshe
speak at The Tree of Life Assembly in Sevierville, Tenn. My husband,
friends, and I were well pleased with the exciting information on The Two Houses
of Israel. I have a question, if I might. The Tree of Life provided tapes
of the teaching and we have been reviewing them. On the Shabbat morning Moshe is
talking about the seed (zera) of Abraham. He says the word in Genesis 12:3 is
(and I quote) "the word here is 'nevarekh' not 'yevarekh' which means to
bless but 'nevarekh' meaning to mix." We have looked in our Strong's,
Hebrew language books, Hebrew dictionaries, Brown/Driver/Briggs, Wilson's Word
Studies, Internet, etc and cannot find any references as to this word 'nevarekh'
meaning to mix. Can you help us understand this and tell us where we can find
this information? Thank you for your time
Lisa Allen
Dear Lisa,
Paul is stating what
all of us already should know in Galatians 3:19; that salvation and the promise
of salvation was brought by the One and Only Seed (Messiah Yahshua), who would,
in turn, bless all the nations taking the good news to all of Abraham’s sperm
globally (Genesis 12:3). In Hebrew Genesis 12:3 literally reads: "I will
bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you and in you shall all
the nations of the earth shall be mixed! "Ve nivrechu bekah kol
mishpachot ha-adamah." The Hebrew word improperly translated in most
translations as blessed, is the Hebrew word ve nivrechu. Nivrechu means mixed
not blessed! "In five places in the Talmud and other rabbinic literature
nivrechu is translated as grafted or intermingled. In the orthodox Jewish Art
Scroll Tanach Series, Volume 1 p. 432 it is written: ‘There is an opinion
shared by Rashbam, Chizkuni, Da’as Zekeinum and quoted by Tur, that the verb
ve-nivrechu in Genesis 12:3 is related to the root barak as in the Mishnaic term
mavreek meaning to intermingle or graft." Hebrew word nivrechu is the
niphal conjugation of the root word barak. Literally it can read: " and
in you all nations will be born through mixing." The Art Scroll
series agrees. In five places, this word is translated mixed or grafted by the
rabbis (Keliam 7:1, Sotah 43A). The Hebrew for blessed is yivrechu not nivrechu.
Paul had this understanding and confirms this in Galatians 3:29 and Romans 11:13
17, where he calls non-Jewish believers the grafted-in physical seed of
Abraham, in direct fulfillment of the ve-nivrechu blessing of multiplicity
in Genesis 12:3!
The Seed, or the
Messiah Yahshua, blesses all the nations (the mixed seed of Abraham), and since
Jews and Israelites from Ephraim are in all the nations, you have two marvelous
concurrent truths floating from Calvary. You have the Seed (Messiah) going into
all the nations, with His Word (Mark 4:14), to gather into one Abraham, Isaac
and Israel’s scattered physical seed.
Rabbi,
I was doing some more studying on
Shavuot. Your article on Shavuot (A Time Of ReNewal) really helped to
show me what Shavuot is. But I have another question, When was Israel exiled
what time of year was it. I may be wrong, that is why I want to ask you first
before I taught it to any body, but could it be that the exile was on Shavuot or
around that time. I was reading in Amos 8:1-6 8:2 talks on a basket of summer
fruit (kayitz) then he says "The End" (ketz) has come for my people.
In Hebrew it seems to me that there
is a play on words. Amos states that there is a summer fruit basket in front of
him. And then it says The End. The words look and sound a like. Verse 5 then
goes and talks on the Rosh-Chodesh. Could this point to Shavuot, or it was at
the time of Shavuot that Amos (being from Judah) gave his message to Israel,
that they would be exiled If you have any thoughts on this or tell me that I am
wrong and you can answer my question I will be great full
Shalom and Thanks,

Dear Chester,
Great question.
Actually the judgment pronounced upon Northern Israel can be seen in Amos1: 1-8.
Yes I do believe that Yahweh is sending the northern kingdom or Ephraim into a
2700 year Diaspora commencing right about the time of Shavuot, since the wheat
harvest was presented to Yahweh on Shavuot or Pentecost. Whether or not the
House of Israel was exiled on Shavuot is unclear. What is clear is the prophetic
message Yahweh sends in connection with hapless Ephraim’s future celebrations
of the feast!
Previously the
Ephraimites were in a hurry for the Rosh Chodesh [New Moon] and for Shabbat to
be over with so that they could go on in dishonest gain in business and the
abuse of the poor. They were found unfaithful in these two celebrations and thus
would not be allowed to experience any more of the Feasts, found in Leviticus
23. Since Israel’s marriage to Yahweh was on Shavuot, most likely His divorce
of the nation (not the individuals) also took place on the same day!
Amos 8:9 talks of
Judah’s Diaspora, which actually began when the fate of the Son of Yahweh was
sealed on Calvary. As the Brit Chadashah teaches us, the entire globe was dark
in the middle of the day in fulfillment of Amos 8:9. Although Jewish-Israel
would not see General Titus until 70CE, their fate was sealed on the day
darkness covered the earth, a symbol of Judah’s darkness and rebellion having
filled Yahweh’s cup of indignation. Since they rejected the Paschal Lamb of
Yahweh slain before the foundation of the world, they would not be allowed to
experience the next feast on Yahweh’s calendar with His blessing. The next
feast was Shavuot, set apart for those who did receive the Paschal Lamb Yahshua)
as the first fruits offering, then to enjoy the full wheat harvest 50 days
later. So we see that prophetic wrath was pronounced against both houses and
Yahweh stopped both houses from entering into the summer harvest of Shavuot.
That harvest of souls in 33AD was reserved for a forgiven and obedient remnant
of 120 (the ekklesia) from both houses [see Shavuot; A Time of Re-Newal
at http://www.yourarmstoisrael.org] in The Temple. Since Yahweh married all
Israel on Shavuot giving Torah as the ketuvah (marriage agreement) 50 days after
the exodus, He chose Shavout to display his divorce of the northern kingdom from
future Shavuot celebrations, as well as informing Judah that all their
celebrations starting with Passover 33AD would no longer please him due to the
Passover Lamb’s rejection.
Amos chapter 8 is a
pronouncement on both houses and we see a redeemed remnant of both houses
prophesied to experience reconciliation later in Amos 9:11-12, and fulfilled in
Acts 2, again on Shavuot 33CE, as Yahweh renews His vows to remnant, restored
Israel! Selah
